There’s now only 1 week left to vote for the King of the Nerds People’s Nerd contest. If you have some time, I would love your vote for my audition!
If you weren’t a part of the phenomenon that was the first season of King of the Nerds, you missed out. First off, it’s hosted by Curtis Armstrong and Robert Carradine. If you don’t know who they are then do yourself a favor. Go watch Revenge of the Nerds. Now would be a perfect time to do that. My stepdad and I used to watch this movie together all of the time. And the second. And the third. Maybe it was because we’re technologically minded. Maybe it was because we got into WarCraft together. But we’ve been nerds since long before it was cool. And we were pretty proud to watch these movies any time they were on. Armstrong and Carradine are reason enough to watch King of the Nerds.
Another reason, like you need another reason, is the contestants. 11 nerds, ranging in geeky specialties, divided into 2 teams competed weekly on different nerd challenges. The losing team had 2 members put up for a nerd off and the loser went home. As Armstrong put it: immediately. Challenges ranged from cosplay to writing and performing nerd anthems, from debating comics to calculating physics. All I could think week after week was how awesome it would be to spend 2 months at Nerdvana with these people. How could you not want to be a part of this competition?
That is just one reason why I’m auditioning for this show. Voting for the People’s Nerd ends next Friday so please vote! (Click HERE!)
